This coming Saturday London Scottish make the short trip across to the east side of the city, for the eagerly anticipated top of the table clash against Barking.
The Goresbrook side are certainly the surprise package of the season and irrespective of what happens in the remainder of the season, the Barking club can be truly delighted and proud of the unexpected progress they have made since they returned to Level 3.
Barking remain unbeaten and the only blip on their playing record occurred when they drew 20-all at Redruth, early in October. Key players for the club this season have been young fly half Harry Owens, winger David Vincent and the experienced centre (and Assistant Coach) Kevin Sorrell, who has been pulling the strings in the backs. However, we should not forget the strong and young mobile pack, which Head Coach Alex Codling has put together. London Scottish will need to be at their very best to overcome the league leaders on their own home turf and make up for the loss that Barking inflicted earlier in the season at the RAA. Since those early losses, London Scottish has put together a strong and consistent run of victories and will be looking to extend this further on Saturday.
All London Scottish supporters are strongly encouraged to come along on Saturday and roar on the lads to an eleventh consecutive victory. For those intending to make the journey they can do so, by catching the District line to Bacontree tube station, turn right out of the tube station and walk along Gale Street for approximately half a mile to the ground. Alternatively, those intending to drive (and are technically savvy) should enter the post code RM9 4TX into their SatNav, taking you straight to the ground, which is located just off the A13. Please note there is limited parking at the ground, however ample street parking can be found nearby.
Wishing all a Merry Christmas and hopefully an early Xmas present on Saturday for all London Scottish supporters.
A full match report will be on the website this coming Sunday.
