Scottish Overpowered by Ealing

In a howling gale and in biblically wet conditions, Ealing’s superior pack and up front dominance proved enough for a comfortable win in the first of back to back meetings between these two sides at the Trailfinders Sportsground.

Ealing started the faster of the two sides capitalising on London Scottish ill discipline to build field position. Working deep into the 22 and then using their superior power to flop over the line for the opening score.

Scottish would respond well building their own pressure on their big spending opposition. Eventually that pressure told and Zach Carr emerged from a pile of bodies to score off a driving maul.

The remainder of the first half remained a rather even affair despite a strong wind into the faces of the Exiles. One lapse in concentration lead to an Ealing try off the back of a driving maul, but overall the Exiles would have felt they were right in the fight at halftime.

However, Ealing flipped the script in the second half and did a number on their fellow London opposition. Scottish ill discipling and inaccuracy meant they were unable to use the wind which was by now at their backs.

Ealing would run in four further tries in what turned out to be a disappointing afternoon out for the Exiles. They will return to Ealing in just seven days time, this time in the league, looking to put right the wrongs of this performance
