Preparation for the new season moved up a gear this morning as Scottish visited London Irish’s Hazelwood Training Ground, and were put through their paces against the Aviva Premiership side.
The forwards had huge competition at scrum-time in their practice, and the backs were tested with set-piece drills ahead of the friendly with Rotherham Titans on Wednesday, 19th August at 19:00.
The session was concluded with a brief practice match between the sides to up their match-fitness.
Head Coach Peter Richards saw it as a valuable session for the players to gel further with the new season now upon us.
“The forwards got a lot out of this morning with live scrums and the backs were tested with set-piece moves.
“Putting two squads together and training slightly differently is really important and I was very impressed with our first run-out before playing Rotherham next week.
“We've been working for eight weeks and today shows that we're in a good spot.”
