Scottish Visit Mortlake Summer Fair

01st July 2013
admin

The London Scottish development team, along with everyone’s favourite mascot Mac the Lion, were out enjoying the summer sunshine and meeting the local community at the Mortlake Summer Fair at the weekend.

Scottish set up camp at the fair, which ran from midday to 4pm, and offered plenty of fun and engaging rugby activity to passers-by, including TAG drop-in sessions, a fastest pass competition in the Deutsche Bank speed passing cage and lots of other exciting introductions to the game of rugby. There were prizes to be won as well, with London Scottish kit and equipment up for grabs.

Community Development Officer Ross Peacock was pleased with how the afternoon went as himself and the rest of the development team seek to engage with more and more of the nearby community.

Peacock: “It was great to see kids of all ages showing an interest in the game of rugby. The activity we put on at the weekend will have introduced a large number of children and families to not only the game of rugby but to London Scottish and what the club can offer. The day was a huge success for us, with a number of children showing interest to join the club and learn more about the game of rugby.”

The development team will be attending the St Margaret’s Summer Fair at Moormead Park on Saturday 13th July from 10.30am until 6pm. There will once again be plenty of activity, including a ‘beat the players’ challenge, with a number of the professional first team attending over the duration of the day. Make sure you head down and visit on the day.
