TEAM NEWS: Vernon captains the Scots in Jersey

Richie Vernon will captain London Scottish this weekend as the exiles head across the Channel to take on Jersey Reds in Round 14 of the Greene King IPA Championship.

The Scots have been forced into a couple of enforced changes after the Nottingham game a couple weeks ago with a few players struggling with short term injuries.

Captain Mark Bright is not fit to play so Richie Vernon will deputise for him. Rob Stevenson remains out after pulling out before the Nottingham game with a leg injury.

Jordan Brodley is unavailable for selection as Jonny Harris starts with Billy Harding and Phil Cringle. Bristol Bears prop Ollie Dawe returns on the bench with Jimmy Litchfield.

It’s a Loughborough Alumni combination in the second row as Luke Frost partners Theo Vukasinovic.

James Tyas moves back into the back row as Matt Eliet shifts to the base of the scrum with Lewis Wynne on the openside.

Hart and Jennings continue as the half backs. Skipper Richie Vernon partners Tom Fowlie in the centres.

Bobbie Beattie starts on the right wing with Miles Mantella on the left. Charlie Ingall is at full back.

Bath flanker Paul Grant could make his first start for the Scots after he joined on loan this week. England 7s flyer Ben Harris is also named on the bench and could make his Scottish debut.
