London Scottish are pleased to reveal the next three schools to be taking part in this year’s Powder Byrne Schools Six Nations.
In addition to the three schools named yesterday, three more schools can be revealed today. They are St Paul's from England, Lycée Comte de Foix Andorre from Andorra and Wales' Rhydal Penrhos.
St Paul's
St Paul’s is one of the founder members of the Rugby Football Union and has a long standing tradition for rugby excellence. As one of the oldest rugby playing schools, St Paul's fields up to 22 teams on one of the toughest circuits in the country. Traditional rivals include Eton, Tonbridge, Radley and Wellington and in 2004 and 2007 the U15's reached the final of the RBS Daily Mail Cup. Pupils and former pupils have international representation. Current schoolboy internationals include Jesse Mander, Archie Faulks and Richard Mathieson.
St Paul's are delighted to return to the competition this year after a very successful season and tour of South Africa. They are looking forward to the experience of playing and getting to know all the staff and boys from the Six Nations.
Lycée Comte de Foix Andorre
The school is really looking forward to their first participation in the Powder Byrne Six Nations Tournament and they are hoping to put Andorra on the map! Andorra is a small country between France and Spain, tucked in the Pyrenees mountains. It’s not really known as a rugby playing nation but hopefully the participation of the school in this year's tournament will change that!
Rhydal Penrhos
The school are delighted were delighted to have been invited to the inaugural Powder Byrne Six Nations Tournament and are even happier to have been invited since! They return in the knowledge that the experience for their players will be both invaluable and enjoyable, enabling them to transfer their skills between this, the full sided and the seven-a-side version of the game.
The school would like to thank London Scottish for inviting them to what they hope will continue to be a regular fixture in their calendar and they hope that the event fulfills the expectations of all those involved, whether they be players, spectators or coaches.
