Trailfinders Down Scottish in Ealing

Scottish travelled to Vallis way and Ealing Tralifinders knowing they had a mountain to climb to pick up a result against the unbeaten league leaders. Ealing proved it such with an imperious display, racking up 70 points and Scottish leaving without a bonus point.

It was a tough afternoon for the Exiles from the off with the away side unable to gain a foothold in the game. Ill discipline and inaccuracy plagued the Scots in the first half and allowed Ealing to play on top, with fast ball and as a result run in tries in a free flowing style.

Scottish had their chances in the first forty, entering the 22 more than enough tries to come away with multiple scores. However, other than a Vereimi Qorowale short range effort after 15 minutes, little mistakes cost them dearly.

The second forty, Scottish were able to make use of the wind a little bit more with Fraser Honey kicking some nice 50/22s to gain field position. However, Scottish were not able to make the most of this field position with a number of unforced errors coming into the game to cost them crucial points.

Ealing stuttered slightly with changes but were still able to keep running in tries almost seemingly at will showing why they were the side atop the tree.

Scottish finished the game on a high with young debutant Oliver Duncan crashing over the line for a score. However, a lot of work to do going into the final few rounds of the season and a big test at home next weekend against Coventry.
