Under-15s enjoy action-packed season

29th April 2015

Our under 15 lads enjoyed a packed programme of league and friendly fixtures and two tours this season.

The high point was representing the UK together with Blackheath in a World War One memorial international rugby tournament in France.

This centenary event, pictured, marked the date when the first three of the 131 British and Irish international rugby players killed in that war were lost.

Each player wore a shirt carrying the name of one of those fallen at an event covered by national television and attended by Prince Charles, Angela Merkel and President Hollande.

A total of 21 matches were played this season with a competitive aggregate result of won 10, lost 10, drew 1.

The team faced a tough challenge in its league matches having won two back-to-back promotions previously but ensured that every member of the squad regardless of skill level enjoyed regular game time.

The lads signed off their season with a tour of the south coast losing to Sussex champions Chichester but enjoying solid victories over Hove and Bognor.

As a relatively small squad the under-15s welcome new players of any ability..
