Vacancy Available: Media Assistant

London Scottish is looking for an enthusiastic and talented journalism student to assist the Media and Communications Manager during the 2016/17 rugby season.

The successful applicant will be needed to assist the Media and Communications Manager at weekends (home games) and occasionally during the week (mainly remotely, from home).

The experience gained carrying out a variety of media duties at a fully professional rugby club will stand the successful candidate in great stead for a career in Media or PR.

Key Duties:

Produce content for the London Scottish website (e.g, write post match player interviews and occasionally off diary stories/features).

Help in the production and delivery of the full-colour 60 page match day programme (e.g. occasionally write feature interviews with a player or member of London Scottish).

Help increase engagement through social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on match days.

Help in the production and delivery of a LSFC Match Preview E-Zine.

Produce content for the local newspaper, The Richmond and Twickenham Times (generally a player interview) which will see your byline being printed in the paper.

Candidates must possess the following key qualities:

A passion and knowledge of sport, particularly rugby union.

A passion for journalism and the media and the ability to write clear, concise and creative copy.

Sound knowledge of social media channels (mainly Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube).
