London Scottish sign fly-half Will Magie for the 2019/20 season.

Magie, who is British born but qualifies to play for the USA through his parents, joins us from Glendale Raptors, who play in Major League Rugby in America.

He was captain of the rugby team whilst studying at the University of Leeds. Magie has also captained his country at U20 level at the IRB Junior World Rugby Tournament in 2012.

The 27-year-old’s first professional rugby contract was with our local rivals Ealing Trailfinders in 2013. He spent a season with National 1 side Old Albanian Rugby from 2014 to 2015.

In 2016 Magie moved to Denver Stampede, in the then newly founded PRO Rugby competition, where he scored 113 points that season.  For the past two seasons Magie has been playing for the Glendale Raptors in the MLR.

Magie is currently representing his country at the World Cup and will join us after the tournament has reached its climax. He has 26 caps in an Eagles shirt.

“I’m very excited to be joining London Scottish, growing up in West London I know the tradition of this great club and can’t wait to get started. A big thank you to Graham Steadman and Stevie Scott for this opportunity,” said Magie.

On the signing head coach Graham Steadman said: “We’re excited to welcome Will to London Scottish. He’s proved he can control games before and move his team around the pitch as a good 10 must. He’s also a good kicker and sound defender. We look forward to seeing him show these skills in a London Scottish shirt.”
