Winger Peter Homan is relishing the prospect of his first league start for London Scottish this evening.
Homan, who joined the Club from Rotherham in the summer, has had to bide his time in the opening weeks of the season but is desperate to show what he can do against Cornish Pirates at the Mennaye Field tonight.
Speaking from the squad's base in Cornwall this afternoon, Homan said: “I am over the moon to get the nod for tonight's game.
“It has been a difficult few weeks but I have just put my head down in training and it has paid off. I am really looking forward to the game.
“It should be a good encounter. Both teams are coming off the back of defeats and we are desperate to get back to winning ways.
“We have been training really well and done our research on them. Now we need to do the business on the park.”
The 22-year-old continued: “Strong winds and rain is forecast and it could be a case of the team who makes the least mistakes and grinds it out will pick up the points.
“I feel I am pretty powerful and quick and conditions this evening might suit me. I cannot wait and I'll give it my best shot.”
Durham-born Homan says the camaraderie in the Scottish squad has made the move to London a lot easier and he's quickly settled into life in the capital.
He added: “I have loved it at Scottish so far. London is a great city and Richmond is a fantastic area.
“It's a lot different to Rotherham where it was quite a quiet laid back place but I've settled in well.”
