Games don’t come much bigger than this a ‘home’ derby against Richmond, in the sun, at the end of the season with relegation play offs on the line. We sat down with Head Coach Joe Gray ahead of this titanic clash to get his thoughts on the game.

“This Saturday is a massive day for the Club all around. I don’t really buy that the game is somehow less important because we are both in the play offs and playing against each other in a couple of weeks time. Not only is this game huge in terms of momentum and laying down a marker, it’s important to both Clubs.
Every time a London Scottish or Richmond player steps on the field against each other it matters. It matters to the supporters, the coaches, the history and the players. We want to get one over on them and they want the same. So I expect some real fire on Saturday.”

Joe also gave an update on his squad going into the final few rounds of action “we are still under the cosh injury wise but we are looking a little bit better than a fortnight ago when it really was an issue. We’ve got a few back and can welcome some boys in on loan this week which makes a big difference.
Hopefully we can continue on that trend and be stronger each week as we go to the end of the season. Rugby is an abrasive sport so we know it’s not easy but rest assured everyone in the background is pushing as hard as we can to put our best selves forward as often as possible.”
