Scots name strong side for Jersey challenge

24th March 2016
admin

London Scottish have named their starting line-up for tomorrow’s Good Friday match against Jersey at St. Peter’s.

The Scots have had a two-week break due to the British and Irish Cup knockout stages, so will be looking to return to winning ways in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Jersey currently sit in fifth place with the Scots eight points behind them in eighth, and any hopes of a top-six finish will mean that Scottish will be looking to travel home with a win.

David Cherry makes his 40th appearance for the club at hooker, alongside Jack Cosgrove and Matt Shields in the front-row, with Rory Bartle and Josh Thomas Brown in the second-row.

Evan Olmstead, Alex Brown and Mark Bright start in the back-row, with the captain running out in a Scottish shirt for the 120th time.

Matt Heeks occupies the scrum-half shirt, whilst Peter Lydon moves to fly-half. Oli Grove and Robbie Fergusson start in the centre, with an exciting back-three of Jason Harries, Sam Smith and Aaron Morris.

James Hallam could also make his 40th appearance for the Scots from the bench, with Tyrone Moran and Max Maidment also offering a front-row alternative. Kieran Treadwell will cover the rest of the forward pack.

George Horne will be looking to make an impact when called upon, Lee Millar could make his 50th appearance for Scottish if he comes on, and Howard Packman will cover the back three at St. Peter’s.
