Welbeck Group Extends Sponsorship Deal with Scottish

07th October 2013

London Scottish today announced it has entered into a three year extension of its sponsorship deal with the Welbeck Group.

It takes the Club’s association with the wealth management and financial planning firm to eight years.

The partnership will see Welbeck continue to be Official Finance Partner of London Scottish, providing specialist financial advice and services to London Scottish players, members and supporters through a variety of channels.

The company, formed in 2001 by current Managing Director and former London Scottish player Greg Knight, also back the Club through their sponsorship of the Welbeck Group Try of The Month competition which allows fans to vote for their favourites tries throughout the season.

Welbeck will once again have their logo displayed on the Club’s shirt and be promoted at Richmond Athletic Ground, the home of London Scottish.

London Scottish chief executive Kenny Baillie said: “We are delighted to have Welbeck Group on board again as we compete in this season’s Greene King IPA Championship and the British and Irish Cup.

“They have been incredibly loyal partners to London Scottish in recent years during our epic rise through the leagues and most recently as we have consolidated our place in the second tier of English rugby.

“As well as providing us with terrific backing financially, it’s great that Welbeck can offer London Scots sound financial advice and engage with fans through their Try of the Month competition.

“This season Scottish has assembled one of the strongest first team squads in years and once again I would like to thank Welbeck for their dedicated support.”

Greg Knight, Managing Director of Welbeck Group said: “The Welbeck Group has been closely involved with London Scottish on several levels for a number of years.

“We look forward to a closer partnership supporting some of the wider initiatives in the community that the Club is actively developing.

“We want to see the Club continue to flourish and progress.”
